Development Case Study

Client Persona

The Client was a large company that develops, administers, and scores tests both nationally and internationally. The project was to write student- and parent-facing rationales for existing multiple-choice assessment items that the Client had already developed for the state of Texas.

Client Pain Point

The Client had a large volume of work that it simply didn’t have the time or in-house staff to accomplish. The schedule was tight; the due date could not be missed. Quality and consistency of the work were critical to the project. The rationales had to be thorough explanations, in as few words as possible, that clearly explained the correct answers to parents and students.

Victory’s Qualifications

  • Ability to understand what the Client (and the Client’s client) wanted and to replicate it
  • A thorough knowledge of grammar rules for items aligned to writing standards
  • Deep understanding of grade-appropriate responses

Victory’s Process with the Client

  • 1 At the start of the project, the Client gave Victory numerous samples of rationales.
  • 2 The Client provided PDFs of the passages and items. Victory provided rationales in Word templates, receiving feedback for initial batches.
  • 3 Victory immediately adapted to the Client’s feedback. Thereafter, few revisions were requested.

Result

The Client was very happy with Victory's work. Very few revisions were needed in the project, which made it efficient and profitable for all parties. Deadlines were met and communication was excellent so the Client had reduced stress.
